🌿 Group Respite Care

Connection. Relief. Joy — in small, supported groups.

Sometimes, a short break is all it takes to catch your breath. Our Group Respite Care offers children a chance to connect with others in a nurturing, low-ratio environment — while giving parents or caregivers space to rest, recharge, or take care of life’s demands.

This service is ideal for children who benefit from gentle social opportunities, predictable structure, and caring, attuned adults.

🧒🏽 Who It’s For
  • Children ages 4–11

  • Great for kids who may experience anxiety, emotional sensitivities, or need extra support in group settings; or who live with Type 1 Diabetes

  • Also suitable for children who just enjoy quieter, nature-based social time

  • Designed for small groups of 2–4 children per session

📅 How It Works
  • Offered on select days each month (e.g., weekends or PA days)

  • Sessions are pre-scheduled and announced in advance

  • Families can register for one or more sessions depending on availability

  • Spots are limited to ensure individual attention and a calm group dynamic

🛶 What to Expect

Each session includes:

  • Time in nature, open-ended play, and group games

  • Calm, flexible routines

  • Snack breaks and quiet moments

  • Occasional planned outings (e.g., local nature centers, farms, or trails)

  • Support from experienced, child-centered care providers

💰 Cost

Because this is a shared service, costs are lower than 1:1 respite care — while still ensuring meaningful connection and individualized support.

  • Pricing is based on group size and session length

  • A detailed schedule and fee structure will be shared before registration opens

  • Families can choose the sessions that best fit their needs

📍 Location & Hours
  • Programs are held in Hamilton or at outing locations around the Greater Hamilton Area

  • Sessions may run for half-days or full days, depending on the month

  • Drop-off and pick-up instructions will be provided upon registration
